The people and equipment in the medical field are near and dear to my heart. As a company we firmly believe that our equipment can help people have a second chance at life, and I have witnessed that firsthand. My father had a heart transplant in 1986 – the first year that Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit started doing these procedures. He was right around the 20th heart transplant they had ever done. I was able to have another 19 years with my father because of the incredible Dr’s, nurses, and technology available. At only 10 years old, I had no idea what was going on, but looking back it is still absolutely astounding to me what he had gone through and I am forever grateful for the second chance at life that was given to him. I hope that through the efforts of myself and my team that we can be even a small part of miracles like this for patients and their families around the world.
I have a beautiful wife of nearly 20 years and three amazing boys ages 14, 10, and 8. They are full of energy and I’m certain we are “that house” on the block with the crazy kids. They are also some of the most polite and loving boys I know and I am very proud of each of them.
They’re into everything it seems – soccer, swimming, running, archery, triathlon, camping, downhill skiing, riding bikes, the Detroit Lions, and playing Skylanders on the Wii. They have also discovered slacking, which is as challenging as it is fun (and not at all what you’d think)!
All 3 of them have the same love for winter (and yes, snow… lots of it) that their parents have.
